Professor Atabek received his BA from METU, MA and PhD. From Ankara University. He started his academic carrier as a research assistant at Faculty of Communication, Gazi University in 1980. With a scholarship from the Italian government in 1983, he worked as a researcher at the Istituto di Studi Sociali, Perugia University. In 1995, he received his associate professorship degree in the fields of press & broadcasting technologies. While serving as the department chair and vice dean at Faculty of Communication, Gazi University, he also taught at Ankara University. In 2001/2002 he worked as a vising professor at TRNC Eastern Mediterranean University. In 2002, he was appointed as full professor at Akdeniz University, where he also served as the faculty dean between 2005 and 2008. Since 2009, he works at Yasar University. He was a member of Communication Committee in Turkish National Commission for UNESCO between 2002 and 2010. Between 2007 and 2009 he served as the Academic Coordinator of Antalya Press Academy. He has membership with EUPRERA, ECREA TSBD and İLAD. His fields of academic interests are communication technologies, communication research methodologies and political economy of communication.


Born in Kirsehir Turkey, Cem Sefa SÜTÇÜ was graduated from Marmara University obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Economics (English) in 1990, after finishing his education in Kabatas High School, Sütçü completed his master programme in 1992 and his doctorate in 1995 in the field of Statistics at Marmara University. He got the title of Associate Professor in Communication Sciences in 2006. He had a role as a board member (2007-2009) and vice president (2009-2011) at Turkey Informatics Association (TBD). In 2013, Sütçü received the title of Professor in the field of informatics. Working at Marmara University in the Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism and The Field of Informatics, Prof. Dr. Cem Sefa Sütçü has been teaching on the topics of Statistics, Research Methods, Social Media Analysis Methods, and Social Commerce. He is the author of the book titled “Kişisel Bilgisayarlar ve Kullanımına Giriş” (1996) and the co-author of the books titled “Yayıncılığın Değişen Yüzü” (2005), “Elektronik Ticaretten Sosyal Ticarete Dönüşüm” (2013) and “Veri Bilimi “(2018). Studying on New Media, Social Media, internet research methods, social network analysis topics, he shares content related to technology, New Media, and informatics topics in his blog “”, of which he describes as the book form of the near future.


Bülent Fidan completed his education in the fields of business, communication, and design. He gives lectures at universities for a long period of time teaching semiotics, advertising, and branding as an instructor and a lecturer. In 2005, he was chosen as one of the “Top 100 Most Successful Cartoonist of the 20th Century” by the European Academy of Humour. Fidan held more than 40 solo and group exhibitions. He had a role as a leader for numerous associations and foundations working for non-governmental organizations. He had a president role in Advertising Creators Association (RYD) and managed Turkish campaigns for 8 years. He supported the enactment of “Animal Protection Law” by establishing the Turkey Animal Rights Platform. He worked as an accredited consultant in the projects conducted by institutions such as the World Bank and the European Union. Fidan also had a role in the communication planning and managing stages of Istanbul’s preparation in earthquake projects carried out by the Governorship of Istanbul. For a long time period, he has been the brand consultancy of ARGANDE, the women’s employment project under the management of GAP, the GAP and United Nations project. Taking a step forward in establishing “Marka Konseyi” in Turkey, Istanbul, he became one of the founding members. In 2019, he became the Chairman of “Marka Konseyi”. Among his other works, he worked as an executive editor in journals such as “Brand Age” and “Grafik Tasarım”. Fidan still carries on his works as a designer, consultant, and trend analyst in “Brand Suite”, executive editor in “BrandMap Journal”, and the head of Strategic Marketing and Brand Management Master’s Program at Altınbaş University, Istanbul.
